The only negatives I can give this guitar are that it didn't come with a hardcase, which personally I found very disapointing for such a high priced guitar. The finish and hardware are first class, the tremelo system in particular deserves high praise, I've never owned a better guitar for staying in tune!! The RH-4 is a truly great guitar with such versatility it has something to suit everyone.

The biggest compliment I could give this guitar is that since I bought it 6 months ago, my Gibson SG and 1973 Gretsch Roc Jet have barely been taken out of their hardcases. This compared to the 5 tones of your average Strat is quite simply why the little known RH-4 deserves more attention. With the splitter switch and VSC switch the RH-4 Classic has 21 tones available before you even begin to go near an FX pedal. The rear of the guitar has 3 trim pots that are adjustable to model the sound of the VSC, giving the player heaps of scope to get the sound they REALLY want!! The middle position is the bypass position leaving the natural tone, while the down position boosts the mid range for more power, ideal for lead guitar. This little gem is a 3 position switch, in the up position it increases the top end giving a sharper more brittle tone perfect for rhythm parts. As well as that all Levinson Blades come with the VSC (Variable Spectrum Control) active circuitry. It has the standard 5 way selector like all Strats, but the tone control is a push push button that splits the bridge humbucker to a single coil. The pick ups are great but it's the diversity of their use that takes it above and beyond most guitars.

Sound is where this bad boy has impressed me most.
